A Scottish doctor travels to Seventies Uganda to work overseas, just as notorious dictator Idi Amin comes to power. The naive medic is soon occupying a privileged position in the president's inner circle, but as Amin's erratic behaviour intensifies, he slowly becomes aware of the horrific campaign of violence and murder being committed by the despot.
