Traveller Margaret Lockwood strikes up a conversation with a scatterbrained elderly lady when their train is delayed, but after the journey gets under way again, her new friend mysteriously vanishes - and almost everyone else on board pleads ignorance about the matter, prompting her and fellow passenger Michael Redgrave to investigate the intriguing occurrence.
