Movie (1990)
Real-life brothers Gary and Martin Kemp star as the vicious Kray twins, who ruled London's underworld with a rod of iron in the 1960s. Peter Medak's stark and violent biopic deals rather well with the many complex influences - maternal power, filial devotion and homosexual tension - which shaped the gangland supremos. Billie Whitelaw is impressive as the boys' doting but wily mother, while Tom Bell and Steven Berkoff appear as rival villains.
