At first the husband and their guest engage in friendly rivalry, but their macho sparring soon develops into something much darker. However, nothing is entirely as it seems. Roman Polanski's incredibly accomplished directorial debut, starring Leon Niemczyk, Zygmunt Malanowicz and Jolanta Umecka.
