Movie (1991)
John Goodman takes the title role in this tired comedy about a larger-than-life Las Vegas entertainer who ascends to the throne of England thanks to a freak accident which wipes out the entire royal family. Cue all manner of cliched shenanigans as the brash American accidentally gets on the wrong side of the stiff-upper-lipped Brits - luckily the fine cast go some way toward saving this offering from the doldrums. Also starring Peter O'Toole, John Hurt, Richard Griffiths and Joely Richardson
