Adaptation of Shakespeare's play of political ambition and a battle for power in ancient Rome, telling the story of cunning statesmen plotting to overthrow their ruler. The late Charlton Heston stars as Marc Antony, alongside Jason Robards, John Gielgud, Robert Vaughan and Richard Chamberlain. It's clearly a role that appealed to Heston - this is the second time he played the part on film, and he would later headline a self-directed movie of Antony and Cleopatra
