Excellent and endlessly exciting Western based on the exploits of the notorious James brothers. The pair embark on a life of crime to avenge their mother's murder at the hands of a vicious landowner, hoping to bring his apparent good fortune to an end by wreaking havoc on the railroads, in which he has a sizeable stake. Tyrone Power is on fantastic form as the eponymous outlaw, who is portrayed rather more heroically than usual in this offering, while Henry Fonda plays his brother.
