A naive orphan girl becomes governess in a mysterious Yorkshire mansion and it's not long before she's completely besotted with her charismatic but intimidating employer. Little does she suspect he's concealing a dark secret from her. Excellent adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's much-loved romantic novel, with a high-quality cast including Agnes Moorehead, Margaret O'Brien and Joan Fontaine, who seems so fragile she might just break opposite a massively brooding Orson Welles
