The Jackal
Movie (1997)
An inferior but engaging remake of classic thriller The Day of the Jackal, which was based on the Frederick Forsyth novel. Reformed terrorist Declan Mulqueen (Richard Gere, complete with requisite dodgy Irish accent) is given a pardon from prison to track down an assassin (Bruce Willis) hired to kill a leading American political figure. The supporting cast includes Sidney Poitier, Diane Venora, Mathilda May, Leslie Phillips, Jack Black and Richard Lineback
