The only survivor of a plane crash is brought to the tropical island home of a reclusive scientist. He soon discovers that his host is breeding a new race of human-animal hybrids, intended to be less savage than mankind. But taming the wild beast isn't as easy as he thinks, and his creatures soon go on the rampage. Modern day adaptation of HG Wells' novel, starring Marlon Brando, Val Kilmer, David Thewlis and Fairuza Balk. Directed by John Frankenheimer.
