A young boy is caught up in the ensuing civil war in El Salvador, while his worried mother tries desperately to protect him. Director Luis Mandoki's moving, fact-based drama offers some shocking scenes of children fighting alongside soldiers, but the strong cast make this a captivating and ultimately rewarding experience.
