Classic retelling of Victor Hugo's novel about lonely bellringer Quasimodo, shunned for his grotesque appearance, who finds solace in unrequited love for the beautiful gypsy girl Esmeralda. At first content to worship from afar, he is spurred into action when the object of his affection is put on trial for her life - and launches an ill-fated rescue attempt.
