Movie (1997)
Three ambitious Welsh youngsters rebel against their depressed industrial town upbringing, hoping to make a new life for themselves in the wide, open spaces of America - but their ailing mother demands they stay and care for her, crushing their dreams. This spirited drama has plenty of promise, but director Marc Evans seems to lose focus halfway through. Sian Phillips, Steven Mackintosh, Lisa Palfrey and Matthew Rhys head the cast
