Drama, based on the true story of Clifford Irving, a struggling author who, in the early 1970s, managed to convince a publishing house that he had been personally hired by Howard Hughes as a biographer. Banking on the reclusive billionaire being too publicity shy to contradict his claims, Irving offered to sell the rights to the book for a million dollars.
