Movie (2005)
Arthur Dent, a thoroughly ordinary man, is hurled into an intergalactic adventure when the Earth is destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Luckily, he's not expected to negotiate outer space alone - his friend, whom he discovers is in fact an extraterrestrial, gives Arthur a handy travel guide to make sense of the strange universe. On his travels, Arthur encounters a range of crazy characters, including a paranoid robot, a sleazy president, a cult leader and the girl of his dreams. Entertaining sci-fi comedy based on Douglas Adams's classic series, starring Martin Freeman, Bill Nighy, Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel and Sam Rockwell. Stephen Fry provides the voice of the book.
