Thirteen-year-old Esther is neglected by her parents and does not fit in at her exclusive private school. She meets a rebellious older girl who is everything she wants to be. The pair decide to swap places, with Esther gaining a happy new life in a normal school - but pretending to be older than she is creates its own problems.
