Movie (1968)
John Boorman's striking and intense drama about a confrontation between an American GI and a Japanese soldier on an otherwise deserted island during World War Two is a superb two-hander from stars Lee Marvin and Toshirô Mifune. At first, the stranded pair are determined to continue the raging international conflict on the remote Pacific paradise, but as time slips by, they reach an impasse - and realise they must rely on one another if they're to survive
