A middle-aged violinist undergoes a heart transplant operation, but afterwards shows a startling change of personality - to the horror of her daughter. The musician starts to display the character traits of the organ donor - a hard-drinking, 22-year-old man. Then a series of ghostly visions of him finally convinces her that his soul is in her body.
