Movie (1968)
A deaf mute moves to a small town in America's Deep South, where he strikes up a friendship with a lonely adolescent girl struggling to find direction in her life. Robert Ellis Miller's drama is a beautifully observed piece of film-making, causing viewers to become really involved in the lives of the characters. Alan Arkin and Sondra Locke scooped Academy Award nominations for their performances, alongside Stacy Keach, Chuck McCann and Percy Rodriguez
