Movie (1948)
Laurence Olivier directs and stars as the prince of Denmark in this atmospheric, Oscar-winning adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy. Haunted by the suspicious death of his father and his mother's sudden remarriage to his power-hungry uncle, Hamlet is compelled by a ghostly visitation to seek revenge. Eileen Herlie, Basil Sydney, Jean Simmons, Peter Cushing and Patrick Troughton fill out the supporting cast.
