Movie (1998)
In this moving drama, Charles Dickens' classic rags to riches story has been adapted by writer John Goldsmith and transplanted from 19th-century England to modern-day New York and Florida. Ethan Hawke takes the role of Fin, a young man from a humble background who makes his name as an artist with the help of a mysterious benefactor. His success is tinged with sadness, though, as he fails to win the love of his childhood friend, Estella (Gwyneth Paltrow). Anne Bancroft, Hank Azaria, Chris Cooper and Robert De Niro also star.
