Synopsis:

Peter O'Toole plays a shy, retiring schoolmaster who sets out to woo singing showgirl Petula Clark. Terence Rattigan scripted this clumsy musical remake of the classic drama which could almost have worked - if it weren't for the inclusion of the simply dreadful songs. Michael Redgrave, George Baker and Sian Phillips also star in Herbert Ross's less-than-impressive directorial debut

Cast:

Peter O'Toole as Arthur Chipping, Michael Redgrave as Headmaster, George Baker as Lord Sutterwick, Petula Clark as Katherine Bridges, Sian Phillips as Ursula Mossbank, Michael Bryant as Max Staefel, Jack Hedley as William Baxter, Alison Leggatt as Headmaster's wife, Clinton Greyn, Michael Culver, Elspeth Gray, Clive Morton, Ronnie Stevens, John Gugolka, Jeremy Lloyd, Jack May

Credits:

Herbert Ross - Director, Arthur P. Jacobs - Producer
