The Good German
Movie (2006)
An American reporter assigned to Berlin in the aftermath of World War Two takes the opportunity to search for an old flame he became separated from during the conflict. But as he combs the city for her, aided by a cheerfully corrupt US soldier, he finds his lost love has some dark secrets and also stumbles on a murder nobody is particularly keen to solve. Steven Soderbergh's drama recreates the style and shooting techniques of 1940s Hollywood movies. Starring George Clooney, Cate Blanchett and Tobey Maguire.
