Movie (1974)
The swashbuckling sailor battles a variety of mythical monsters in this fantasy adventure. Sinbad and his crew stumble across a strange creature carrying a golden tablet that forms part of a map. While the dashing mariner sets out to solve the riddle behind the map, an evil wizard is determined to get his hands on it. As usual with the series, the highlight is the special effects courtesy of stop-motion genius Ray Harryhausen, with the heroes crossing swords with gryphons, centaurs and a six-armed living statue. John Phillip Law stars as Sinbad alongside Martin Shaw, Caroline Munro and a pre-Doctor Who Tom Baker as the villain
