Marlon Brando gives an Oscar-winning performance as the head of the Corleone family in Francis Ford Coppola's beautifully made epic tale charting the handover of power in a dangerous Mafia dynasty. When the patriarch of the crime family is hospitalised following an assassination attempt, control passes to his three sons - the violent and unpredictable Sonny, the weak-willed Fredo and Michael, the white sheep of the clan who proves the most ruthless of them all. Al Pacino, James Caan, John Cazale and Talia Shire play the Corleone offspring, with the brilliant supporting cast completed by Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton
