Francis Ford Coppola's Academy Award-winning sequel to his acclaimed gangster movie - one of just a few sequels to outdo their originals. Al Pacino returns as Michael Corleone, who sets out to clinch a make-or-break deal with an ageing gangster - but finds his plans torn apart by a traitor within the family. The plot is intercut with flashback sequences chronicling the early life of Michael's father Don Vito, played by Oscar-winner Robert De Niro, as he makes the shift from immigrant grocery store clerk to Mafia bigwig.
