Movie (2001)
Naive songstress Mariah Carey vows to escape her humble beginnings, eager to make it big in the world of pop. A chance encounter with a producer looks set to provide her ticket to stardom - but she doesn't foresee the struggle ahead. Watching her appalling performance here, it's hard to imagine that Carey actually is a professional singer and performer - though to be fair, the script and storyline are utterly abysmal as well. Still, the Eighties backdrop is good for nostalgia value. Max Beesley, Dorian Harewood and Da Brat co-star
