Musical biopic of the legendary band leader and trombonist. The film depicts the king of swing's triumphs from his college days to the pinnacle of his career, before it ended in a World War Two plane crash over the English Channel in 1944. James Stewart plays the bandleader, and June Allyson co-stars as his wife. with Charles Drake and Louis Armstrong
