A gifted youth is kidnapped by government agents intent on tapping into his psychic powers and using them for nefarious purposes, but the boy's former secret agent father (Kirk Douglas) vows to rescue him at all costs, and recruits a group of gifted telepaths to help fulfil his quest. Brian De Palma's stylish and superior sci-fi horror features some extravagant special effects, making it well worth watching, but it sadly failed to make much of an impact at the box office.
