Synopsis:
Barbra Streisand made her film debut in this musical and won an Academy Award for her portrayal of sad singer and comedienne Fanny Brice, who achieved Broadway fame as the star of the Ziegfeld Follies. Streisand gives her all in the role - she could have won the Oscar for the finale (the explosive Don't Rain on My Parade) alone. Omar Sharif and Walter Pidgeon do their best to get some quality screen time but opposite the brilliant leading lady, it's a lost cause
