Synopsis:
Hilary Swank stars as Erin Gruwell, a young English teacher working at a racially diverse and gang-riddled high school in Los Angeles. In an attempt to break through to her underachieving students, Erin introduces them to The Diary of Anne Frank, which results in a class project where the youngsters can explore and share their own life experiences. Richard LaGravenese's fact-based drama also stars Patrick Dempsey, Scott Glenn, Imelda Staunton, Deance Wyatt, Vanetta Smith and Pat Carroll.
