A 21st-century scientist travels back in time to the 1800s, where he meets the real-life Victor Frankenstein and his creation - but finds he's meddled with forces far beyond his control. Roger Corman's offbeat retelling of the classic horror story is a bewildering but nonetheless spectacular affair, and stars Raul Julia, John Hurt, Bridget Fonda, Jason Patric and former INXS frontman Michael Hutchence in one of his few big-screen roles
