A crooked lawyer gets caught in the crossfire between his racketeer boss, his devious brother, and the anti-crime tactics of a crusading new prosecutor who would like to jail the lot of them. Powerful and stylish film noir from director Abraham Polonsky, who was blacklisted shortly after the film was released for his 'subversive' leanings.
