Roger Moore reprises his role as secret agent James Bond and heads into the fray once more for John Glen's 12th entry in the long-running adventure series based on Ian Fleming's stories. The suave spy sets out on the trail of a device from a sunken ship that is capable of rendering Allied forces' submarines useless. Unfortunately, he finds his mission hindered by crossbow-toting Carole Bouquet, out to avenge her father's murder. Topol, Julian Glover, Jill Bennett and Lynn-Holly Johnson are among the supporting cast and there's even a fleeting debut by Charles Dance as an assassin
