The First Deadly Sin

Frank Sinatra made his last appearance as a leading man in this gritty thriller, though he did pop up in a smattering of big-screen cameo roles before his death in 1998. Here Ol' Blue Eyes stars as an ageing cop with a terminally ill wife, who tries to put his personal problems aside as he tackles his final case - that of a serial killer who dispatches his victims with an axe. Sadly, it's nothing to write home about, and viewers should have no trouble guessing the murderer's identity. Faye Dunaway, David Dukes and Brenda Vaccaro co-star, while eagle-eyed viewers might spot a fresh-faced Bruce Willis lurking in the background, in an uncredited appearance
