Richard Linklater's adaptation of Eric Schlosser's best-selling book uses interwoven fictional stories as a means of illustrating the politics and problems of America's convenience food industry. When the owners of a popular burger bar realise their meat may be contaminated they send executive Greg Kinnear to find out more, and the previously oblivious employee soon learns the process of turning cattle into cuisine can be a messy, unhygienic and even dangerous affair. Ensemble drama, which isn't for the faint-hearted, also starring Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke and Kris Kristofferson
