German teacher Nejat doesn't approve when his father forms a relationship with a prostitute, but becomes more accepting of the woman when he learns she is funding her daughter Ayten's education in Turkey. When she dies, Nejat travels to Turkey to track down Nejat, not realising she is already making the opposite journey, her political activism forcing her to become a fugitive.
