A film crew arrives in a small Minnesota town to make a documentary about the local teen beauty pageant. Although a talented dancer seems a likely winner, the ruthlessly ambitious organiser is willing to go to any lengths to ensure her own daughter comes first, resorting to a slew of very unladylike tactics - including murder.
