Movie (1989)
Jessica Tandy scored a well-deserved Oscar for her portrayal of a stubborn old widow who hires black chauffeur Morgan Freeman to drive her around in style. Over the years, their friendship gradually develops into something special, as the initially hostile old bird warms to her employee. Deeply affecting but very modest and old-fashioned drama with excellent performances from the two leads, which also scooped the Best Picture statuette at the 1989 Academy Awards.
