The Dresser

Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay give fantastic performances in this theatrical drama. A once famous Shakespearean actor fallen on hard times leads a struggling company on a tour of Britain during World War Two. Among the group is his assistant Norman, who is utterly devoted to his demanding employer. However, the eccentric thespian's mental state is swiftly deteriorating, and it falls to Norman to ensure he can carry on performing. Based on the autobiographical stage play by Ronald Harwood, and co-starring Edward Fox, Michael Gough, Eileen Atkins and Zena Walker.
