Handsome doctor Richard Gere lives a seemingly idyllic life - but when his wife has a nervous breakdown, the family skeletons seem to be falling over themselves to emerge from the closet. Only a new patient seems to offer him salvation. Disappointing comedy from Robert Altman, who thankfully does manage to squeeze some charm out of the tale - but not a lot. Helen Hunt, Kate Hudson, Farrah Fawcett and Liv Tyler are among the cast trying to wring emotion out of their badly written characters
