Movie (2002)
A successful playwright defames her mother in a magazine interview, prompting her offended parent's friends to kidnap her and bring her back to Louisiana to account for her claims and reunite her with her estranged matriarch. Occasionally moving drama, which marks the directorial debut of Oscar-winning screenwriter Callie Khouri, who previously penned the far superior Thelma & Louise. The star-studded cast includes Sandra Bullock, Maggie Smith, Shirley Knight, Ellen Burstyn, Ashley Judd and James Garner
