Movie (1982)
A hard-boiled private detective is hired by a mysterious femme fatale to investigate her father's untimely death, but the case leads them into peril. Steve Martin and Rachel Ward star in this inspired film-noir spoof which combines scenes from classic detective dramas with performances by its latter-day stars, leading to encounters with such cinema greats as Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre. Directed by Carl Reiner, who also makes an appearance
