De-Lovely

Musical biopic of famed composer Cole Porter, which sees the maestro looking back over the key events of his life as if they were scenes in one of his stage shows. The film follows his marriage to a glamorous socialite, his homosexual liaisons and the tragedy which blighted his later years. Kevin Kline takes the lead with a captivating performance, but sadly Irwin Winkler's film lacks emotion and depth. Ashley Judd, Jonathan Pryce, Kevin McNally and Keith Allen co-star, while performances of classic songs are provided by artists including Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow and Elvis Costello
