Fragile convalescent Merle Oberon moves in with her mysterious Deep South relatives, and finds her tenuous grip on sanity threatened by a series of attempts to drive her mad. This thriller wasn't exactly original when it was made, but it's got plenty of atmosphere, and Oberon is a joy to watch as always. Franchot Tone and Fay Bainter co-star
