Synopsis:
A widow is shocked to discover her daughter has died, leaving behind a mixed-race child she knew nothing about. Though initially apprehensive about caring for her granddaughter, the woman eventually warms to the idea, and finds herself sharing custody of the girl with the paternal grandfather. Surprisingly compelling drama, with the cast, including Louis Gossett Jnr, Gena Rowlands and Penny Fuller, all putting in well-judged performances
