Synopsis:
Classic fact-based World War Two drama in which a group of eight stiff-upper-lipped British Marines carry out a daring operation to canoe into Bordeaux harbour, where they plan to sabotage the German fleet - a mission considered by many to be suicidal. This documentary-style saga was a very personal project for leading man Jose Ferrer, who also directs. The excellent supporting cast includes Trevor Howard, Dora Bryan, Anthony Newley, Victor Maddern, David Lodge and Peter Arne
