An electrical repairman sees a fleet of UFOs flying overhead and finds himself obsessed by images of a mountain, driving his wife to despair. Meanwhile, a woman develops a similar fixation after her son mysteriously vanishes, and a team of scientists investigates a series of strange events around the world. They are all drawn to Devil's Tower in Wyoming, where the aliens are about to make contact.
