Movie (1968)
Musical children's adventure about an eccentric inventor who rescues an old car from the scrapheap and gives it magical, gravity-defying powers. But the blundering ruler of Vulgaria - the land where children are banned - desires the vehicle and will do anything to get his greedy hands on it. Fantastic entertainment for younger viewers, although the sinister Child Catcher (Robert Helpmann) may send a few shivers down spines across the country. Dick Van Dyke stars, with Lionel Jeffries, Sally Ann Howes, Gert Fröbe, Benny Hill and James Robertson Justice. Based on the children's book by James Bond creator Ian Fleming and adapted for the screen by Roald Dahl and director Ken Hugh.
