Highly acclaimed but not entirely accurate historical adventure, which rehashes the events leading up to the legendary Crimean War engagement, when the British 27th Lancers braved death in an attack against a 20,000-strong Russian artillery unit. Errol Flynn and Patric Knowles star as brothers who both fall for the lovely Olivia de Havilland - but their lives are tainted by a thirst for revenge which leads to the eventual massacre.
